Do you find it easy to trust God?
Being preoccupied with our lives and grieved by the actions of others, we can find it hard to ask God for help. So we press on by ourselves with our limited strength and understanding, often heaping up future regrets.
Prince Caspian has arrived in Leicester Square. In the film we find the Pevensie children pulled back into the land of Narnia, facing great terrors and uncertainties. Soon they are in a ferocious battle and many of their army are killed. Crushed with grief, they start to blame each other.
Their attitude towards Aslan the Lion, who defeated their enemy in the past, changes too. Trust turns to doubt, as they reject him and seek more sinister help. It is only when they have no other alternative that they turn back to him for rescue. In spite of their foolishness, he stands with them in their darkest hour!
The film parallels real life. We too can have a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Jesus, like Aslan, is the all powerful ruler, yet how often we choose to reject him. Still he calls us to trust him. If we do, we can know that our past is forgiven, that the future is certain and that now we can have peace of mind whatever life may hold.
The Bible calls Jesus the Prince of Peace, the only one who can bring lasting peace to our lives. His track record is impeccable. Why not check out this claim for yourselves in the Bible?
